Equipmet for Hospital Pediátric Federico Falcón.Del Viso (Pilar) Prov. Buenos Aires – Argentina
Description and objectives: This project will provide with basic elements for the equipment of the operating room of the Paediatric Hospital Federico Falcon. This equipment includes an Oxicapnograph and three positions for the washing of hands. The hospital is located 40 kilometres to the north to the city of Buenos Aires. It is the unique Paediatric Hospital with free attention of patients in Pilar Department and surroundings. In case one of the patients requires a surgery he/she must be transferred to other hospitals, like the Hospital of La Plata (one hour approximately of distance). The children who concur to this Hospital come from families below the line of poverty who can barely cover their basic needs. This produces incalculable economic problems to these families for who this transfer becomes in many cases impossible. The municipal and provincial government together with “Cooperadora” of the Hospital has opened recently the area of Intensive Therapy which will be complemented with the installation of an operating room. In this zone two Rotary Clubs have donated for the construction of the operating room (its concretion in the first trimester of 2009 is considered) and collaborated for the control and supervision of the total project. Responsible: Susana Oleskow – President Rotary Club “Pilar Norte” Beneficiaries:
Indirect: the city Del Viso, has a population of 220,000 inhabitants. The hospital also covers the needs for the neighbouring areas: Escobar, Jose C. Paz, Malvinas Argentinas and San Miguel, considered “Zona V Sanitaria” (Sanitary area)
